Totalitarianism

Oprah WinfreyI have been pondering the difference between so-called “soft” totalitarianism and old-fashioned “hard” totalitarianism. I have not yet had time to convert my ponderings into ramblings but, while you wait on tenterhooks for the next fascinating installment, you might want to read George Orwell’s Understandable Mistake.

Heroes

For those of you that didn’t know, I have spent the last three and a half weeks living and working in the United States of America. I’ve been quite busy and not at all inclined to spend my free time writing blog entries so I’m afraid this site has been stagnant of late. However, I will be returning to England this weekend.

In the meantime, I thought I would list some people whose lives have not only inspired me but have had some direct effect on my own:

William of Wykeham

Emery Walker

Michael Charles Tempest Reilly

D’Arcy Patrick Reilly
